howdy! 🤠
My first two weeks of training camp is finished! My time here has been full of so many emotions and a lot of new things that i’ve gotten to learn about. From diving deeper into the word and who Christ is to each of us, to somehow keeping my little yellow tent organized (still working on that). God has been with me through every step, and continues to show me more of him every day!
On a typical day here, our mornings start around 8:15. We have some personal time in the morning to do devotions and spend time alone in the word and pray. The past couple of days I have been going through the book of Psalms!
We typically have two to three sessions every day. These are either sermons that help us dive deeper into our faith or teachings to better prepare us for the countries we will be going to! We take notes about what we’re learning and have an open group discussion with our squad after, and i’ve learned so much because of it.
Towards the end of the day we clean up around the campus and have time to hang out with our squad! I am so grateful for the community of people i have met that are starting to become like family quickly.
Every day as always, ends up back at out little tent community. Fun fact about me is that i’ve always wanted to live in a neighborhood. I guess a tent neighborhood is pretty close. Picture a little light up igloo village in the forest but without any penguins and you get the idea. pretty cool.
Living in this community has been a blessing for my friendships and also my faith. I’ve gotten to hear and learn from people’s testimonies, and how the Lord has been healing and working in their lives since they’ve been here. I’ve also been encouraged and by them in my faith as well!
The past week and a half the Lord has been teaching me about my identity and trust in Him. I’ve learned what it really means to be seen by the Lord and walk in a new confidence in who he has created me to be because of it. Some verses I have found uplifting and just have a different perspective on are,
“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?” Psalms 8:3-4 NIV
Jeremiah 1:5 i“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born jI consecrated you;I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
The Lord has been so good the past couple of weeks and i’m so excited for what’s to come. I’ve included some photos at the bottom of what has been looking like lately!
Thank you so much for all for the support, encouragement, and prayers, they mean so much to me! I’ll see you guys on the next update!
Sending love! 🤠

I am so proud of you, sounds like you are really digging into this journey you are on. The Lord is so much more than we can imagine. Stay safe 🤙🏼
Go, Maddie! Proud of you! Glad You are really digging into all of it! How expressive on your creative writing gift from God: ”tent neighborhood”—”Picture a little light up igloo village without any penguins”‘! (Can just picture it!) Maybe you could write a book about your 9 month adventure! How about a snail mail address, while you are in GA!? Dad said, “‘after your training there won’t be any way to mail you anything!”‘ Mom said, ”she will mail your birthday card/gift from us, since it came after you left!” We love YOU!! We are continuing to pray for YOU!! 2 GJs
